A "Prepared by" statement is required on every document. Paper must be white, not larger than 8.5 by 14 inches, and at least 20-pound weight. Margins must be 2 inches on top and bottom of first and last pages, and half an inch on sides. Font must be 10-point or larger in black ink.

Non-conforming documents carry an extra $1 per page charge. Under IC 32-21-2, Social Security numbers must be redacted before any document is submitted. All deeds must include a legal description of the property and the grantee's mailing address. The Sales Disclosure form must accompany every deed submitted for recording.

Standard copies are $1 per page. Certified copies add $5. Fees are collected at both the Auditor's and Recorder's offices during the deed process.

The standard Indiana three-step deed recording process applies. Start at the County Assessor for review and stamping. Then proceed to the County Auditor for endorsement.
